Julie has been practicing Yoga for over 10 years, from the moment she stepped onto the mat in her first class she knew Yoga was something that would be a huge part of her life wherever that path took her. Having quickly established a regular practice combining Vinyasa flow and Ashtanga she discovered additional benefits to Yoga away from the physical practice including a calmer mind.
Julie started teaching 8 years ago, she completed her 200 hour teacher training with Yoga London, and is also trained in Pregnancy, Mum & Baby Yoga and Kid's Yoga. With a background in dance and gymnastics, Julie incorporates the freedom of movement and creative sequences into her classes. She specialises in sports Yoga and works with a number of athletes, professional rugby players, Olympic weight lifters and boxers. With a sports background herself, Julie understands the benefits of Yoga for all athletes in terms on recovery, strengthening, flexibility and calming the mind.
Her classes are accessible to all as she works on the students’ body awareness and personal goals, leaving any ego or competition at the door. In Julie’s classes you can expect a strong practice with an element of personal freedom and fun. She encourages each student through challenging and flowing sequences always maintaining the focus on the breath. Julie is Yoga Alliance certified and takes regular workshops and classes to ensure she maintains that personal challenge and her teaching is always fresh.
