We met with OSLO Health Manager and Instructor Pamela Renwick to get the low down on all things Cardio Pilates...

What is Cardio Pilates?

Cardio Pilates is our signature class at OSLO Health. It is a high-intensity cardio workout targeting the entire body. Combining Pilates, Yoga, Barre and HIIT techniques with cardio and incorporating props like Pilates rings and weights, this class never gets old.

What are the benefits of Cardio Pilates?

Pilates lengthens, strengthens & tones the body while working to improve posture and body awareness.  With added cardio and weights the body burn fats, so you see results faster improving your cardiovascular health. Every class is different. To keep that body guessing, some classes will see you moving to the beat on the barre, other classes will have you flowing through intense yoga sequences.

I’m worried about my fitness level. Will I be able for this class?

Cardio Pilates is for all. You don’t need to be fit or flexible to take part. The first few classes will be tough, but you will see improvements very quickly. Our classes are small, so our instructors quickly get to know you and your body. We work together to get you to your goal, in a safe and achievable manner.

I’ve never taken Pilates classes before. Can I try Cardio Pilates as my first class?

All levels of experience are welcome to Cardio Pilates. Our classes are small and intimate, allowing our instructors to modify movements and their intensity to suit different abilities.

How should I prepare for class and what should I bring?

Drink plenty of fluids and prepare to get your sweat on!! You don’t need to bring anything with you. We provide yoga mats and all equipment. It’s best to come in active wear. We encourage bare feet for your safety. We have showers and complimentary towels available for your convenience, so there are no excuses not to workout hard!

Can I attend if I’m pregnant?

This class is not recommended for expectant mums. Our prenatal classes are specifically designed for pregnancy. These classes combine a unique fusion of Yoga and Pilates, focusing on core stability, posture and pelvic floor muscles. With gentle movements and postural awareness, we help you to relieve stiffness, cramps and discomfort and to optimise well-being and health.

Check out our timetable here for our prenatal class times.

How often should I go to Cardio Pilates?

We understand how busy life is and how difficult it is to fit everything in. Ideally, you should attend classes 2-3 times per week. If you can’t do this, make sure you add home practice or some cardio to your daily life. A run or a walk several times a week will make all the difference to your overall health and well-being.
